LookSee Mobile Application Privacy Policy

Information Outpost, LLC
Effective date: 9/14/2026 · Last updated: 9/24/2026

1. Overview

Information Outpost, LLC (“Information Outpost,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) owns and operates the LookSee mobile application and related services (“LookSee” or the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use LookSee, create an individual or business account, scan landmarks, upload content, purchase a subscription or other offering, interact with advertisements, contact us, or otherwise use the Service. It also explains choices and rights that may be available to you.

This policy applies to LookSee on Apple’s App Store and Google Play, and to any related website or support channel that links to it. It does not govern third-party services that maintain their own privacy notices. By using LookSee, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

·        Account information. Username, password or password-derived authentication data, email address if requested, account type, and profile or preference information.

·        Communications. Messages, support requests, survey responses, and other information you send to us.

·        Purchase and subscription information. Product or plan selected, transaction status, billing history, subscription status, and limited payment-related details. Stripe processes payment credentials; we generally do not receive or store full card numbers.

·        Business and nonprofit account information. Organization name, contact information, authorized-user details, account administration information, and content submitted for landmark recognition.

·        Training and landmark content. Images, video frames, descriptions, labels, location information, metadata, annotations, ownership or permission information, and related files uploaded to train, test, or improve vision-recognition models.

Information Collected Through Use of LookSee

·        Scan and recognition data. Images or video frames captured or selected for scanning, recognized or attempted landmarks, confidence or result data, timestamps, user feedback, and diagnostic information needed to provide and improve recognition.

·        Saved history. If you sign in and use the history feature, we may associate scanned-landmark history and related results with your account so you can retrieve them across sessions or devices.

·        Camera, photos, and media. With device permission, LookSee may access the camera or selected photos solely for features you choose to use. Your operating system controls these permissions.

·        Location information. If the feature is enabled and you grant permission, we may collect precise or approximate device location; we may also infer approximate location from an IP address. Location may help identify nearby landmarks, improve results, prevent fraud, or support analytics. You can change device permissions at any time.

·        Device and usage information. IP address, device and advertising identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, mobile carrier, crash logs, diagnostic data, pages or features used, session activity, and referral data.

·        Advertising information. Google AdMob and its partners may collect or receive device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, consent choices, and other usage data to provide, measure, limit, or personalize advertising as permitted by law and your settings.

Information From Other Sources

We may receive information from Apple or Google relating to app installation, subscription status, purchases processed through their stores, device integrity, or consent settings; from Stripe regarding payment status, fraud signals, and limited billing details; and from advertising, analytics, security, or business partners. The information available to us depends on the third party, your settings, and applicable law.

3. How We Use Information

·        Provide, operate, personalize, maintain, and troubleshoot LookSee.

·        Create and secure accounts; authenticate users; synchronize saved scan history; and provide customer support.

·        Process purchases and subscriptions, maintain transaction records, prevent fraud, and enforce applicable terms.

·        Analyze scans and deliver landmark-recognition results.

·        Train, validate, evaluate, and improve computer-vision models and related features, including by using content submitted through authorized business or nonprofit accounts as described in the applicable agreement.

·        Measure app performance, understand feature use, conduct research, and develop new services.

·        Provide, measure, and limit advertisements, and personalize ads where permitted and where required consent has been obtained.

·        Send service, security, account, subscription, and policy communications, and marketing communications where permitted.

·        Protect users, the public, our rights, and the integrity of the Service; detect abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity; comply with law; and resolve disputes.

Where laws require a legal basis, we process information as necessary to perform a contract with you, based on our legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights, with your consent, or to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Services

LookSee uses Google AdMob to display third-party advertisements. Depending on your location, age status, consent choices, and device settings, AdMob and participating advertising partners may use identifiers and other information to show contextual or personalized ads, cap frequency, detect fraud, and measure performance. Google and its partners process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

Where required, we will request consent before enabling personalized advertising or similar tracking. You may be able to manage consent in LookSee, in your device privacy or advertising settings, or through controls provided by Google. If we know a user is a child under the applicable age threshold, we will configure advertising and data practices for that user accordingly, including using non-personalized or age-appropriate ads where required.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Stripe processes eligible payments and subscription transactions for us and may collect payment credentials, billing contact information, device information, and fraud-prevention data under Stripe’s own privacy notice. Purchases made through Apple or Google may instead be processed by the applicable app store under its terms and privacy practices. We receive transaction confirmations and limited billing information needed to provide purchased services, administer subscriptions, maintain records, and address disputes. Cancellation, renewal, and refund rules may depend on the platform through which you purchased.

6. Business and Nonprofit Accounts; Model-Training Submissions

Organizations using business or nonprofit accounts may upload information to allow LookSee to recognize landmarks. The organization and its authorized users are responsible for ensuring they have all rights, notices, permissions, and lawful bases required to provide that content. Uploads should not include sensitive personal information, confidential information, biometric identifiers, or identifiable people unless expressly authorized in writing by us and permitted by law.

We may use submitted content to host, label, preprocess, train, fine-tune, validate, evaluate, secure, and improve LookSee’s recognition systems, and our personnel or service providers may review it for quality, moderation, or support. The applicable business agreement may provide additional terms concerning ownership, confidentiality, permitted use, retention, and deletion. If content has been incorporated into a trained model, removing it from active datasets may not remove its statistical influence from an existing model; we will address deletion requests as required by law and contract and may apply them to future training cycles.

7. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

·        Service providers that support hosting, storage, security, authentication, customer service, analytics, model development, communications, and other operations.

·        Payment and platform providers, including Stripe, Apple, and Google, to process transactions, subscriptions, installation, entitlements, and platform requirements.

·        Advertising partners, including Google AdMob and participating partners, as described above and subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights.

·        Business or nonprofit account administrators, where an account is managed by an organization and disclosure is consistent with that relationship.

·        Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to obtain advice, comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse.

·        Transaction parties in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

·        Other parties at your direction or with your consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some laws may define certain disclosures for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising.” Where applicable, you may opt out as described in Section 11. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of children for targeted advertising.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including while an account is active; to provide saved scan history; to honor contractual commitments; to maintain security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, and legal records; and to establish, exercise, or defend claims. Retention periods vary by data type, sensitivity, context, legal requirements, and operational need. When information is no longer needed, we will delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it, subject to backup cycles and legal exceptions.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, such as access controls, authentication protections, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, vendor oversight, and secure development practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

10. Children’s Privacy

We are committed to complying with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and other applicable child-privacy laws. LookSee is not intended for children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from a child under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a user under the age of 18, we will delete such information from our records.

11. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

·        Account and history. You may access or update available account information and may request deletion of your account and saved scan history through in-app path or by contacting us at looksee.support@informationoutpost.com.

·        Device permissions. You can control camera, photo, and location access through device settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.

·        Advertising choices. Where available, use LookSee’s consent or privacy controls, device settings, and Google-provided controls to limit personalized advertising. We will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals where required and technically feasible.

·        Communications. You may opt out of promotional communications using the instructions provided, but we may continue sending non-promotional service or security messages.

·        Legal rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; and appeal a denied request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To submit a request, contact us using Section 16 or use the in-app report a bug feature. We may verify your identity and request details before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, subject to proof of authority and identity verification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Some information may be exempt from a request under law, and we may retain limited information to document and honor your request.

12. International Data Transfers

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards, such as contractual protections, and take steps designed to protect transferred information.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

LookSee may contain advertisements, integrations, or links operated by third parties. We do not control their privacy or security practices. Review the privacy notices of Google, Stripe, Apple, Google Play, and any other service you choose to use.

14. Automated Recognition

LookSee uses automated computer-vision systems to identify or suggest landmarks. Results may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be relied upon for safety-critical, navigation-critical, legal, or emergency decisions. We may use user feedback and authorized submitted content to evaluate and improve model performance. If LookSee later uses automated processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, we will provide any additional notice and controls required by law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in LookSee, our practices, vendors, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required, such as an in-app notice or account communication. Where required, we will obtain consent before applying a material change to previously collected information.
